Though there have been several efforts to establish a formal network among Chilean Alumni, the IFP Chile Alumni Association currently works informally with a thematic and/or territorial focus. This occurs through postfellowship activities, such as Professional Re-insertion Workshops. This contributes to a deeper contact between alumni, structuring networks not at a national level, but related to some kind of affinity. One example of this is the Wallmapuwen, a Mapuche organization which seeks further inclusion at a political level (www.walllmapuwen.cl; Contact Alumni: Gustavo Quilaqueo).

Another group, beyond Chilean Alumni, is the “Red de ex becarios/as IFP” in Barcelona, Spain. (http://redbecariosifp.blogspot.com, redbecariosifp@gmail.com; Alumni : Mª Angélica Benavides).

Other forms of expression and connection in informal networks occur in the ISEES Forum (www.isees.org), which works toward increasing equity in higher education (Proyect Pathways to Higher Education of Ford Foundation).

Currently we are working a study of Alumni networks in order to fulfill their interests and motivations. We are holding a national meeting at the end of January 2009, in which we expect to move further on our formalization.
